Golf

Ingram Planetarium

The Ingram Planetarium is located at Sunset Beach, North Carolina, in The Village At Sunset Beach. Programs on the hour from 1 p.m. through 4 p.m. If laser music show are scheduled times are 5pm and 6 p.m. In the Paul Dennis Science Hall there are exhibits and displays that feature math and science activities to engage children and adults. Museum of Coastal Carolina

A visit to the Museum of Coastal Carolina is a treat for the young and the young at heart. Many vacationers include it as a multi-generational activity for the whole family. The Museum of Coastal Carolina is located at 21 East Second Street, Ocean Isle Beach beside the playground and just a block from the beach and the pier. Enjoy coastal natural history . . . for the fun of it! Summer hours are June 1-September 4 on Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday from 10-5, Wednesday and Thursday from 10-8:30 and closed Sunday. All-day admission includes programs. $8 for adults, $6 for senior adults 60 & over, $6 students K-12 & College ID, and $4 Preschool ages 3-5, Ages 2 & under are free. Turtle Watching

The Sunset Beach Turtle Watch Program (SSBTWP) is a private, nonprofit program that solicits volunteers to help monitor turtle nesting at Sunset Beach, North Carolina. May through October offers nesting and hatching sea turtles along our Islands. Experience the wonder of a nesting loggerhead turtle or the "boil" of a hatching nest! What an experience! During nesting lays, you may have an opportunity to name the next for a small donation to the turtle watch program. "Nest parents" (volunteers) watch nests nightly during their expected hatching times to assist the babies into the surf and to protect them from predators.

Bird Island Coastal Reserve

Bird Island is an undeveloped barrier island located at the southwestern edge of the North Carolina coast, situated between the Town of Sunset Beach and the Little River Inlet in South Carolina. The Reserve site encompasses approximately 1,200 acres consisting of 136 upland acres and over 1,060 acres of marsh, intertidal flats, and subtidal area. You can reach it by walking along the oceanfront from the west end of Sunset Beach. The State of NC purchased this island in 2002 for conservation uses. Fishing / Kayaks

Capt. Brant's Deep Sea Fishing Charters provides fishing trips from the Gulf Stream to Inland Creeks. Based out of the Ocean Isle Beach Fishing Center. If you really enjoy outdoor adventures, you may be interested in Cooter Creek Paddlesports. They are located in Sunset Beach and offer instructional kayak and hunting tours. Most people don't get to experience the nature side of Sunset Beach, but it's just as beautiful.
